How did MyBlindCo come to be?

I was on a sales call for Honeycomb Shades, working on a quote for 40 windows when my software crashed. The frustration was overwhelming – words can’t capture how disheartening that moment felt. I was tempted to throw in the towel and return to creating quotes with paper and pen, but then I realized that wasn’t the solution… not with my handwriting!

I thought, “There has to be a better way.”

For over 20 years, I struggled to find software that integrated customer management with pricing. There was nothing available that was easy to use, reliable, and helped produce polished, professional quotes. So, we created that solution.

Brian McGrath

Brian’s extensive experience across the window covering and manufacturing industries has uniquely positioned him to develop innovative software solutions that address the specific needs of this sector. With over 30 years of hands-on expertise, he has a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities within the industry.

For a decade, Brian has focused exclusively on creating software and optimizing internal processes for small and medium-sized businesses in the window covering field. This work is grounded in his 23 years as a retail business owner and 15 years as an installer, roles he held simultaneously for much of his career. These experiences have given him unparalleled insight into both the operational and practical aspects of the industry.

Additionally, Brian’s eight years in the aluminum manufacturing sector, where he established factories in Russia, France, and the United States, have equipped him with a keen understanding of manufacturing workflows. This broad expertise has enabled him to design a software platform that delivers significant benefits to the window covering industry by streamlining operations, improving efficiency, and driving growth.

Audra McGrath

Audra holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the College of William & Mary. During her junior year, she began her career at Anderson Consulting (now Accenture), a leading business integration and consulting firm, as a Software Analyst. Over the course of nine years, she advanced to the role of Experience Manager, leading numerous software development projects from requirements definition through builds and deployments. After a successful tenure at Accenture, Audra joined Brian at The Blind, Shade & Shutter Co.

As the COO of MyBlindCo, Audra plays a pivotal role in ensuring the company’s product development and operational excellence. Her responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing product development and completing detailed product design specifications.
  • Managing updates to products in response to manufacturer changes and price adjustments.
  • Supervising technical team tickets and action items by addressing product issues identified in production.
  • Serving as the primary point of contact for product design-related inquiries.

Client Integration Manager

Marion B

Marion holds a Bachelor’s Degree from NOVA Southeastern University and has extensive experience in both business operations and customer relations. She joined MyBlindCo in June 2020 and has since played a key role in managing the company’s day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth workflow, and delivering outstanding customer support.

Prior to her time at MyBlindCo, Marion’s diverse professional background included years of experience in business management and a successful career as an educator. Her ability to connect with people from all walks of life, combined with her strong communication skills, enables her to provide exceptional service to clients. Fluent in three languages, Marion is able to bridge cultural and language gaps, ensuring that clients feel heard and supported.

As Client Integration Manager, Marion is responsible for overseeing customer relations, helping integrate new clients into the MyBlindCo system, and maintaining relationships with existing clients. She is also involved in resolving issues and providing guidance to ensure a seamless customer experience. Her attention to detail and dedication to customer satisfaction make her an invaluable asset to the MyBlindCo team.

Director of Marketing

Abigail C

Abigail holds a B.A. in English from Virginia Commonwealth University and serves as the Director of Marketing at MyBlindCo. In her role, Abigail is responsible for overseeing all internal marketing efforts for the company as well as managing the marketing services provided to MyBlindCo’s clients.

Internally, Abigail manages a wide range of marketing initiatives for MyBlindCo, including the creation of email newsletters, text campaigns, and blog content, all designed to engage and inform the company’s audience. She also ensures that the company’s online presence is continuously updated and optimized, taking charge of website updates and improvements to reflect the evolving needs of the business.

In addition to her internal marketing duties, Abigail oversees MyBlindCo’s marketing services for clients. This includes managing social media accounts, overseeing SEO strategies, running Google Ads campaigns, and more. She also takes charge of website development for customers, designing and optimizing sites that establish brand identity and boost visibility. Through her leadership, Abigail ensures MyBlindCo’s brand remains strong while also helping clients enhance their visibility and grow their businesses
